Colleen
Curran is a senior-level communications professional with experience
in all areas of public relations, in both the corporate and government
sectors.
Accredited in public relations by the Public Relations Society of America, Colleen specializes in:
- Developing and implementing strategic public affairs programs that help companies and government agencies forge strong and positive relationships with their stakeholders
- Creating marketing communications that attract customers and make clients stand out from the competition
- Counseling management and clients on how to respond to the media and public quickly and correctly during crisis situations
- Developing community relations guidelines, policies, and programs that align business priorities with community needs
- Writing and producing print, web, and video communications to explain complex technical concepts to the public
- Creating and managing employee communications programs that help managers understand what employees want to know, and that help managers communicate what employees need to learn to succeed in the workplace
- Devising performance-based communications program metrics and using online surveys to help companies collect accurate data for performance measurement
As a Six Sigma champion, Colleen has led cross-functional teams to implement process improvements that reduced error rates and saved hundreds of thousands of dollars. She spearheaded the development of a federal agency’s first-ever podcasts, interactive CDs, online fact sheets, web-based news clips, animations, multimedia presentations, and weblogs — for external and internal communications.
Colleen possesses a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of New Mexico, and is certified in emergency public information by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
